Mary Jane Jackson
Mary Jane Jackson, 86, of Meadow Lake Manor, Worthington, formerly of Karns City, passed away at 4 a.m. Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born in Butler, Feb. 28, 1924, and was the only child of Herman Fink and Esther Rice Fink.
She was a member of the Karns City United Methodist Church and was formerly active in the Who Do Class of the church.
She was a member of the Karns City Ladies Card Club and enjoyed reading, puzzles, being with her family and cooking.
Before World War II, she was employed as a secretary at the Kinkaid Mine near Karns City.
She married Roland “Bomy” Jackson on July 28, 1945, in Karns City, and he preceded her in death on July 31, 2004.
Surviving are two sons, David L. Jackson and his wife, Ann, of Erie and John L. Jackson and his wife, Vicki, of Chicora; a daughter, Diane L. McGarvey and her husband, Brian V., of Chicora; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son, Herman Richard Jackson, who died on Jan. 28, 1954.
