Freeport adds bowling club
BUFFALO TWP — Freeport School District now has a student bowling club.
The independent club will use the high school name and district logo.
The district will not have any cost or liabilities associated with the program.
The school board also approved spending $24,575 to replace the doors at the high school science wing and weight room entrances.
The work will be funded from the capital projects fund.
There were not enough votes to buy new French and Spanish textbooks for the foreign language department at a cost not to exceed $20,000.
The board voted 4 to 2 to make the purchase. Three board members were absent.
Dan Lucovich, school board president, said in an interview a minimum of five votes, not a simple majority of who attended, were needed.
