Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts, 124 E. Leasure Ave., New Castle, presents “Robert Blair: Paintings and Drawings” through Sept. 24. Some 52 rarely seen paintings and drawings provide an extraordinary glimpse into Blair's experience as a paratrooper in the 17th and 82nd Airborne Divisions during World War II and his post-war life. A public reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free and refreshments will be served. <B>Carnegie Museum of Art,</B> 4400 Forbes Ave., hosts the Pittsburgh Biennial through Sept. 18, featuring artwork exploring the broad themes of “labor” and “work.” “Palladio and His Legacy: A Transatlantic Journey” provides an opportunity for visitors to view drawings by Andrea Palladio, one of the most influential architects in the Western world. Palladio’s influence is evident in some of the most iconic structures in America, from the Supreme Court to the Capitol. An opening reception is planned at 7 p.m. Sept. 23. The exhibit runs to Dec. 31. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, with additional hours until 8 p.m. Thursdays, and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays; closed major holidays.
