Cranberry Township passes measures

Cranberry Township

During the Cranberry Township Supervisors meeting on Thursday, Nov. 7, the supervisors approved the following items:

— The board approved a contract with Hatch Associates to provide inspection services on the Franklin Road improvement project. Hatch will be in charge of inspecting the water and sewer infrastructure installation to ensure it meets the township’s standards.

— The board approved a contract with Pipe Contracting LP to clean and line Interceptor 14, one of the township’s interceptor collection pipes. The township wants to prevent “root intrusion” in the stormwater collection system, which occurs when tree roots grow and infiltrate sewer lines.

— The board gave the green-light to engineering firm Herbert Rowland & Grubic to begin designing improvements for the intersection of Route 19 and Brandt Drive. The improvement project will add a turn lane to Brandt Drive, along with sidewalks and traffic signals.
