GIBSONIA — Allison Mizgorski, 14, of Butler Township, won the Audience Choice Award at Vocal Round One of the 2011 Kean Idol Amateur Talent Contest.

Based on scores from a panel of judges, she and 17 other acts from Vocal Round One will move on to the semifinal competition on April 3.

Other Butler County performers who will be moving on include: Matt Ferree, 15, of Middlesex Township; Jessica Ortiz, 13, of Penn Township; Lena Skeele, 13, of Slippery Rock; and Taryn Zeigler, 15, of Connoquenessing.

The remaining rounds of the talent competition at the Kean Theatre, 5847 Meridian Road, will be held as follows: more vocal rounds at 1 p.m. Feb. 27 and March 20; dance rounds at 4 p.m. Feb. 27 and March 20; adult vocal contest at 7 p.m. March 11; vocal semifinals at 1 and 4 p.m. April 3; dance finals at 7 p.m. April 8; and vocal finals at 7 p.m. April 15.

Tickets, available at the door, are $10 and proceeds benefit the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund.
