Clarence ‘Butch’ Stahl Jr.

Stahl

Clarence “Butch” Stahl Jr., 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, in Cabot, with his loving family by his side.

Butch was born July 18, 1941, to the late Clarence and Margaret (Duffy) Stahl Sr., in Pittsburgh. He was a resident of Gibsonia for almost 60 years before moving to Cabot in 2021.

Butch is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia “Jeanne” (Plantan) Stahl. He was the loving father of Colleen (Dave) Rosencrance, Laurel (Shon) Clark and Dana (Chad) Speakman; proud grandfather of Kylie and Jake Laughery, Jarrett (Theresa Donaldson) Rosencrance, and Clayton and Carson Speakman; and brother of Connie Williams and the late Margaret Grundler. He is also survived by many nephews, cousins and special friends.

Butch was a 1959 graduate of Millvale High School. As a postgraduate, Butch became a ceramic tile and marble contractor. His trade pulled from some of his best traits. As an expert and teacher in his field, Butch used his imagination, creativity and eye for detail to produce some of the most appealing ceramic designs in the Pittsburgh area. He was never afraid to take on a challenging job. In fact, he welcomed them. He took tremendous pride in his work, as this became his true passion in life. He loved to impress his clients when he revealed his final product. Butch successfully owned his ceramic tile, kitchen and bathroom remodeling service for 54 years.

Butch had numerous hobbies, which included hunting, fishing, camping, boating, bowling, golfing and a love of pizza making. He loved his country and had tremendous respect for flying the American flag in front of his home or camp. He was a true green thumb and extremely passionate about his gardening. What Butch loved most was spending time with family and friends, being the life of the party, telling jokes, and making everyone laugh.
