Cranberry Township Supervisors get initial look at proposed 2025 budget
CRANBERRY TWP — Township officials have no tax increase in the proposed 2025 budget.
“Absolutely no proposed tax increase to fund our services,” township manager Dan Santoro said. “We do see an increase in revenue in some of our tax revenue sources. They’re more than covering those increased costs.”
Township supervisors were presented with the proposed budget at a special meeting Wednesday, Nov. 13. The proposed budget totals $101 million, with about $65 million devoted to operating costs. The rest of that money is allotted to special revenue and capital funds, which have seen an increase.
“The capital funds are up higher this year because we’ve added a new PennVest fund, which is for the treatment plant,” Santoro told supervisors. “So that’s driving up costs.”
Work on the Brush Creek Sewage Treatment Plant is expected to cost around $37 million.
The proposed budget will be listed on the agenda for possible discussion at the Nov. 21 board meeting. At that point, a 20-day window will open where officials, supervisors and members of the public can comment and recommend changes. Then, during the Dec. 12 board meeting, supervisors will vote on the proposed budget.
