College Roundup: SRU’s Goings named PSAC Basketball Athlete of the Week

Slippery Rock University redshirt junior guard Jomo Goings was tabbed as one of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference’s Basketball Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.

Goings averaged 26 points, 10 rebounds, four steals, 3.5 assists and 1.5 blocks over the Rock’s initial two contests – against Shaw and Virginia Union at the Atlantic Region Challenge.

California’s Bryson Lucas was named as the PSAC West’s Defensive Athlete of the Week, while East Stroudsburg’s Lakeem McAliley (Athlete) and Millersville’s Montell Cooper (Defensive) were also recognized.

Seneca Valley grad Swedish receives PAC honors

Washington & Jefferson College senior wrestler Hunter Swedish was included in this week’s Pennsylvania Athletic Conference honor roll. He finished the Presidents' home invitational with a 3-1 record, placing second in the 141-pound bracket.

County soccer standouts make All-PAC team

Grove City sophomore forward Tori Stevenson (Butler), Grove City senior goalkeeper Courtney Lisman (Mars), and Westminter junior midfielder Emma Maloberti and Chatham freshman defender Sarah Vescio (Seneca Valley) were all included as honorable mentions on the All-PAC women’s soccer team.

Geneva junior forward Gabe Singh (Mars) and Westminster senior forward Connor Schmidt (Seneca Valley) were chosen as honorable mentions on the All-PAC men’s team.
