Mental health classes offered online just in time for holidays
The holiday season can be a joyful time, but often comes with added stress and feelings of loneliness.
High expectations, packed schedules and colder weather can prevent individuals from tending to their own mental health.
NAMI Butler County is hosting a virtual Family-to-Family class beginning Dec. 5.
The free classes will be held online from 6 to 8 p.m. each Thursday through Jan. 23.
The program is for family, friends and significant others of adults with mental health conditions. The classes will provide information on anxiety, depressive disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other mental health conditions.
The classes also will cover communication, problem-solving, treatment and recovery.
The course is designed to increase understanding and advocacy skills while helping participants maintain their own well-being.
Registration for the course is available at namibutler.org. Registration will close at 1 p.m. Nov. 27.
