Smokers have rights too
This is in regard to the Feb. 7 letter "Take aim against smoking."
Why should anyone tell me or any other smoker what to do?
A lot has been taken away from us smokers. My right and choice to smoke is mine.
Nobody else pays for my cigarettes, so why should anyone try to tell me what to do.
I work full time and pay my taxes. Smokers have rights too, but it's the non-smokers who have the choices.
How many of our lawmakers smoke?
This used to be a free country but now the non-smokers have the choices that count. They should stop whining.
When I go out to eat, which isn't too often, I can sit in a non-smoking area with no problems. However, when I finish, yes, I do go outside to smoke.
You can go outside and there is more bad air to breathe than cigarette smoke.
I, as a smoker, do try to respect the non-smokers, so I think they need to show respect for the smokers.
As for the Feb. 12 letter "Fight for smokers' rights," hats off to the writer, Jean Wesoloski.
We must stand up for our rights too.
