Baumgartel

Ethel M. Baumgartel, 86, of Adams Township died Monday morning at the St. Barnabas Home in Richland Township

Born in Adams Township, April 6, 1921, she was the daughter of Harold P. and Melverna Truver Kennedy.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Mars United Presbyterian Church, where she was a former deacon and Sunday school teacher. She also belonged to the Mars Women's Club.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Linda) Lees of Mars; two sons, Dr. Ira E. Baumgartel and his wife, Michele, and Larry Baumgartel, all of Mars; and two grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer Zangardi of Hummelstown and Michael Baumgartel of Mars.

Her husband, Walter J. Baumgartel, whom she married Sept. 28, 1940, died May 10, 1992. She also was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Baumgartel; a daughter, Carol Marie Baumgartel; and a brother, the Honorable H. Francis Kennedy, a former state legislator.

<B>BAUMGARTEL </B>— There will be no visitation. Friends of Ethel M. Baumgartel, who died Monday, April 23, 2007, are invited to a memorial service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Mars United Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Jean Gomola, interim pastor, will officiate.
