Jackson Township recommends 2 measures
JACKSON TWP — Township officials recommended two minor measures for approval during a workshop meeting Monday, Nov. 18.
The first of those moves involved the reconfiguration of revised land development plans at Bilo Gas N Go at 226 Perry Highway.
Those plans included expanding the size of the building by 360 square feet and reducing the number of pumps from 17 to 12.
“The contractor is looking to move ahead and is going through the building review process,” said township manager Chris Rearick. “That’ll just keep them moving to get started. But, they’re all pretty minor changes.”
Removing some of those pumps should assist with traffic flow in and around the fuel island, according to township supervisors.
The other motion that was recommended included a follow-up approval of the formation of the Southwest Butler Stormwater Authority.
While the township, along with the boroughs of Harmony, Zelienople and Evans City, has already done most of the heavy lifting in terms of establishment, the latest move served as confirmation after each municipality appointed a member to the new board.
Vice Chairman Allan Osterwise will serve as the township’s representative on the five-member board. All four municipalities agreed to appoint Zelienople’s David Eullinger as the at-large member to eliminate any potential ties. Eullinger will serve a five-year term.
After the articles of incorporation were officially reviewed and accepted by each municipality, members of the new board are set to officially sometime in January of next year.
