W. Daryl Pollock

Pollock

William Daryl Pollock, 93, of Parker, passed away Saturday evening, Nov. 16, 2024, following a period of declining health.

Born on Dec. 31, 1930, in Perry Township, Clarion County, he was the son of the late Merle Alvin and Gay Jordan Pollock.

He was married to the former Avanell Jean Henry on June 18, 1966, and she passed away May 14, 2020.

Daryl was a graduate of the former Parker High School and was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army. Discharged with the rank of specialist 3 technical, he earned the Good Conduct and National Defense Service medals.

He was employed for a period of time with the former Knox Glass Corp. of Parker and also with Soil Conservation at the Clarion County office. He then worked many years at Witco Chemical of Petrolia before retiring.

Daryl was a member of the former Bruin United Methodist Church (now Faith Community Church).

He is survived by four daughters, Daryla (Greg) Shreckengost of Kittanning, Melanie (Mark) Claypoole of Ford City, Karen Pollock of Parker and Jennifer Pollock of Elizabethtown, Pa.; grandchildren, Kodie (Courtney) Claypoole of Kittanning, Ciara (Tim) Irons of New Bethlehem and Amber (Andrew) Danielson of Strattenville; and three great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Evelyn Irons and Cooper Claypoole. He is also survived by two brothers and their wives, Vern and Nancy Pollock of Bruin and Shirl and Marcia Pollock of Parker.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brother, Ronald Pollock.

POLLOCK — Visitation for William Daryl Pollock, who died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker.

A graveside funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Leatherwood Presbyterian Cemetery, Porter Township, Clarion County. He will be laid to rest with his wife at the church cemetery.
