Schlicht

Charles “Chuck” Joseph Schlicht, 84, of Park Crest Lane, Butler, died Thursday, at 2:01 p.m. in Allegheny General Hospital.

Born Sept. 3, 1926, in Butler he was the son of the late Peter A. Schlicht and Mary Delaney Schlicht.

Mr. Schlicht was the owner of Butler-Shearer Hardware before retiring in 1994.

He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World World II and the Korean War.

Mr. Schlicht was a life member of the Elk's Club, and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the American Legion Post 117, Theta Xi Fraternity, Alumni of Carnegie Mellon, and a past member of the Lion's Club.

Mr. Schlicht enjoyed sailing, finances, and dabbling in hardware after his retirement.

Mr. Schlicht is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Lang) Schlicht, who he married on Sept. 15, 1951; two sons, C. Andrew Schlicht of Butler and Peter F. Schlicht and his wife, Anne, of Sewickley; one daughter, Lisa A. McPeak and her husband, Bart, of Federal Way, Wash.; four granddaughters, Audrey J. Schlicht of Monroeville, Kerry B. Schlicht of Eugene, Ore., Celena V. McPeak of Federal Way, Wash., and Chloe J. McPeak of Federal Way, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Schlicht was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, John and Vincent Hanratty.

North St., Butler, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church on Monday at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church to recite the rosary.Members and officers of Butler Elks will assemble at the funeral home at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday to conduct a memorial service.In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, P.O.
