Police Reports

The following items were collected from various police departments:

Adams Twp

Oct. 24 — Sophia A. Williams, 38, of Mars, was charged with felony theft related to a Sept. 5 report made at the station by one of her clients. Police said Williams operates as a psychic and she borrowed about $13,600 and sentimental jewelry. Police said the client asked for her money and items back, and Williams failed to return them.

Oct. 24 — Michael O. Trembulak, 51, of Wexford, was charged with misdemeanor bad checks related to an Oct. 7 report filed by Vogel Disposal. Police said Trembulak wrote a business-related bad check in the amount of $1,498. Police said Trembulak has yet to pay despite being notified.

Oct. 22 — Michael W. Kline, 40, of Mars, was charged with misdemeanor false statement related to a child unable to be dropped of by a bus. Police said while en route to the bus station, Kline arrived at the bus garage to pick up the child. Police said Kline lied about why the child was not able to be dropped off. Police said while looking into Kline they also found an active warrant for his arrest, and his driver’s license was DUI-suspended.

Oct. 21 — Richard W. Rapp, 50, of Mars, was charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor disorderly conduct related to an Oct. 28 report of a drunken man harassing customers at GetGo. Police said they found Rapp blocking the store’s entrance, drinking beer and verbally harassing other people. Police said while trying to talk with Rapp, he kept closing the distance with officers and eventually swatted at an officer’s extended arm.

Butler

Nov. 4 — Paul T. Downey, 43, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault related to a Nov. 3 incident on Mercer Street. Police said after Downey’s girlfriend threw a picture frame at his face, he hit her and threw her against a wall, causing cuts to her face.

Oct. 26 — Eric M. Lyon, 47, of East Butler, was charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest related to a disturbance on Cleveland Street. Police said when they arrived, Lyon was one of two men who looked ready to fight. Police said as they investigated, Lyon appeared drunk and was uncooperative and disorderly. Police said Lyon then refused to enter the patrol car and had to be forced.

Butler Twp

Oct. 24 — Scott A. Basilone, 57, of Zelienople, was charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of making false statements related to a denied gun purchase March 25 at Down Range Supply. Police said Basilone failed to note his criminal history.

Oct. 24 — Dineris Bratini-Rivera, 35, of Campbell, Ohio, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft related to a July 1 report at Walmart. Police said Bratini-Rivera paid for only $40 for $910 worth of items.

Oct. 24 — Amanda K. Noah, 41, of Sarver, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a May 11 vehicle crash into a utility pole. Police said field sobriety tests showed Noah was impaired, and a later blood test showed an excess amount of amphetamine in her system.

Oct. 24 — Eric M. Wenzel, 56, of Slippery Rock, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a Sept. 15 report of vehicle debris on Lions Road. Police said it looked like someone hit a guard rail and left debris behind, and they found Wenzel’s vehicle with matching damage. Police said field sobriety tests showed Wenzel was impaired and a later blood test showed his blood alcohol content at 0.215%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.

Oct. 21 — Walter Standford, 90, of Butler, failed to yield to oncoming traffic and hit a vehicle driven by Jeffrey Butterweck, 33, of Butler. Police said no one was injured and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Cranberry Twp

Oct. 29 — Stephen E. Kosela, 45, of Ambridge, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft related to an Oct. 27 incident at Giant Eagle. Police said Kosela stole $554 worth of items.

Oct. 29 — Eric K. Rager, 42, of Monroeville, was charged in two different cases with felony retail theft and misdemeanor possession of stolen property related to separate incidents at Target. Police said that on Oct. 10, Rager stole toiletries valued at $164. Police said that on Sept. 5, Rager stole electronics and toiletries valued at $642. Police said he has three past retail theft convictions.

Oct. 24 — E.J.W. Perrine, 37, of New Castle, was charged with misdemeanor counts of retail theft, conspiracy and possessing stolen property, in two different cases related to two different thefts on July 30. Police said Perrine drove two others to Lowe’s and Home Depot, helping them steal $861 and $980 worth of items respectively. His alleged accomplices, Pedro A. Rodriguez Ramos, 29, and Dineris B. Rivera, 35, both of New Castle, were charged on Oct. 11.

Oct. 22 — Julio Zavala Castillo, 45, of Cranberry Township, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to an Oct. 18 report of a driver slumped behind the wheel of a vehicle near the intersection of Rolling Road at Cameron Drive. Police said they found Zavala Castillo and field sobriety tests showed he was impaired. Police said a later blood test showed his blood alcohol content at 0.247%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.

Oct. 22 — William S. Reeher, 53, of Wampum, Pa., was charged with misdemeanor simple assault related to a July 2 road rage incident at the Freedom Market. Police said Reeher exited his vehicle and hit another driver multiple times while saying, “I will kill you!” and “I will wreck you!” Police said Reeher also damaged the person’s vehicle which caused about $1,637 worth of damage.

Harrisville

Oct. 23 — Joshua M. Alstadt, 39, of Boyers, was charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of making false statements related to a denied gun purchase March 9 at Gun World. Police said Alstadt failed to note his criminal history.

State Police, Butler

Nov. 6 — Ashley M. Gutshall, 39, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession related to a Sept. 26 traffic stop on West Penn Street in Butler. Police said they identified Gutshall as having an active warrant for her arrest, and during her arrest, they found her with a glass smoking pipe.

Oct. 28 — Perry L. Lawry, 56, of Slippery Rock, was charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor theft related to an Oct. 17 reported break-in on Hobart Boulevard in Brady Township. Police said Lawry broke into a home and stole three cases of moonshine valued at $119.

Oct. 28 — Police charged two people related to a Sept. 24 single-vehicle crash on Badger Hill Road in Muddy Creek Township. Margaret A. Raub, 45, and Richard B. Kamerer, 46, both of Butler, were charged with misdemeanor counts of possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia. Raub was additionally charged with misdemeanor DUI. Police said Raub denied a search of the vehicle. Police said field sobriety tests showed Raub was impaired. Police said Raub later gave blood for testing, but the results weren’t in the report. Police said Raub denied consent to search the vehicle, so police got a warrant. Police said they found 25 full stamp bags of an unknown substance and seven empty ones.

10:30 a.m. Oct. 23 — Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Branchton Road in Cherry Township. Police said Minh A. Pham, 32, of Slippery Rock, was cited for speeding after loosing control of a vehicle on a bend, causing the vehicle to spin and roll until it hit a group of trees. Police said Pham was not injured in the crash.

10:40 a.m. Oct. 22 — Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 8 in Harrisville. Police said Keith B. Wilson, 64, of Grove City, drove a dumpster truck into a railroad bridge overpass, flipping it onto its side. Police said Wilson was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital with a suspected serious injury.

Oct. 22 — Penni L. Miers, 47, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault related to an Oct. 22 report of a man with a head injury on Bennett Drive in Franklin Township. Police said they found Miers’s boyfriend with a 1-inch-long cut on his head. Police said Miers caused the injury by throwing a 3-foot-long piece of wood at her boyfriend’s head.

Oct. 21 — Police charged two people related to a Sept. 21 traffic stop on Vogely Street in Butler. Police charged Amy Calvert 44, of Butler, with misdemeanor counts of possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia and Wayne A. Barry, 35, of Harrisville, with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said when asked to exit the vehicle, Barry kept trying to reach into his pocket, and while searching his pocket, officers found a crack pipe. Police said they then searched Barry’s passengers, and in Calvert’s purse they found empty stamp bags, five stamp bags of suspected fentanyl and a bag of meth.

Oct. 21 — Alexandra M. Veoni, 36, of Verona, Pa., was charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief related to an incident Oct. 15 on Iron Bridge Road in Winfield Township. Police said Veoni was asked to leave the property and caused a scene. Police said that at one point, a woman began recording the behavior, and Veoni grabbed the phone, valued at $1,100 and slammed it on the ground.
