Adreon ‘Dewey’ Jordan

Adreon A. “Dewey” Jordan, 89, of Cranberry Township, passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2024, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township, with his family at his side.

Born in Homestead, Pa., on May 13, 1935, he was the son of the late Adreon T. and Barbara Dilling Jordan.

He had served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a former member of the Cranberry VFW, Harmony Lodge 429 F&AM in Zelienople, and the Syria Shrine and Consistory. He enjoyed woodworking.

Dewey started working as a butcher at his father’s meat market in Homestead. In September of 1975, he started work at the Bulk Mail Center in Warrendale and retired in 2001 as a Maintenance Supervisor. He then spent 18 years at the Butler Auto Auction.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth A. Yetsick Jordan, whom he married on Oct. 15, 1990; a daughter, Kimberly Jordan of Bellevue; a stepdaughter, Linda Hess (Eric) of North Huntingdon, Pa.; a stepson, Kenneth Craft (Jennifer) of Collier Township; his grandchildren, Adriana, Connor, Marissa and Adelina; his great-grandson, Roman; and a sister, Mary Marflak of McKeesport.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Richard “Dick” and Barbara.

JORDAN — Friends of Adreon A. “Dewey” Jordan, who died Monday, Nov. 25, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Gascoine, officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Pinewood Memorial Park, Cranberry Township.
