Burk

Barbara I. Burk, 80, of Gibsonia, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024.

Born on May 25, 1944, and raised in Gibsonia, she was the daughter of the late George Peaco and Peggy Kristian Peaco.

She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas R. Burk Sr.; loving mother of the late Thomas R. Burk Jr.; niece of Carolyn Zarybnicky and Mary Chisnell; and cousin of Mary Zarybnicky, James Jones, Cody Jones, Rose Burnham, John Chisnell and Danny Chisnell. She is also survived by many additional relatives and dear friends.

Barb worked for Woolworth department store in Butler and Pittsburgh Cut Flower in Gibsonia, and she was a housekeeper for Vincentian Regency Nursing Home in McCandless. She loved to travel and lived in Florida for many years before coming back to Gibsonia to be near family.

BURK — A Mass of Christian burial for Barbara I. Burk, who died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Sts. Martha and Mary Parish, St. Catherine of Sweden Church 2554 Wildwood Road, Allison Park. Interment will follow in West Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
