NEW ORLEANS — Freshman Breanna Stewart scored 23 points and Connecticut won its eighth national championship with a record 93-60 rout of Louisville on Tuesday night.
The victory tied Geno Auriemma and the Huskies (35-4) with Pat Summitt and Tennessee for the most titles in women's basketball history. It was the most lopsided victory in a championship game.
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin was named to the NFL's competition committee by Commissioner Roger Goodell. Tomlin will replace former Arizona Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt.
