OAKMONT — Butler native Steve Leone Jr. shot a three-round score of 231 to win the President's Cup club championship at Oakmont Country Club over the weekend.

Leone won by a stroke over Justin Miller and Scott Lamond. It was the first time Leone had captured the title.

Oakmont has held the President's Cup since 1903.

PITTSBURGH — St. Jude Golf Club member and North Hills resident Nathan Smith is in fifth place, six strokes off the lead that is shared by three golfers, heading into the final round of the Frank B. Fuhrer Jr. Invitational at Pittsburgh Field Club.Smith shot a 71 Tuesday to climb back into contention. His round included a hole-in-one on the 135-yard No. 4.
