ERIE — Butler Cubs boxers Lucas Adams and Robert Osterrieder picked up victories on an amateur card Sunday at Holy Trinity Social Hall in Erie.
Adams (1-0) earned a unanimous decision over Anthony Jones of Buffalo, N.Y. Osterreider (3-0) won by TKO in the third round over Andrew Barninger of Mercyhurst College.
Both fighters will be on the Butler Cubs Boxing Show card May 14.
ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse standout Amy Halls was one of seven NCAA Division II players recognized by Synapse Sports for outstanding play last week.Halls was named to the national Honor Roll for her efforts. She scored three goals in a 17-7 win over Millersville and had five tallies in a 13-10 win over Shippensburg.SRU is 4-4 this season.
NEW ORLEANS — The Slippery Rock University women’s outdoor track and field team is 16th in the preseason Division II national poll, released this week by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.The Rock hosts its first meet of the season Friday when California (Pa.) and Thiel join SRU on the Bill Lennox track.
