PITTSBURGH — The University of Pittsburgh will host Basketball Fan Fest and Maggie Dixon Heart Health Fair from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 25 at Petersen Events Center.

Admission is free for the family-oriented event. Free parking is available at the OC Lot at noon.

The event will highlight the Pitt men's and women's basketball teams and feature fan-oriented events and tours.

Pitt men's coach Jamie Dixon's sister, Maggie, died of heart arrhythmia weeks after leading Army's women's basketball team to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2006.

BUTLER TWP — The Butler boys lacrosse team will have volunteer workouts starting Tuesday at Art Bernardi Stadium.Workouts will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and 1 to 3 p.m. Sundays.Boys in grades seven through 12 interested in participating in offseason drills are encouraged to attend. Workouts run through Nov. 23 and the cost per player is $25.
