With another high school basketball season in the books, the sports staff has chosen Butler Eagle Basketball Honor Rolls, as well as the top players and coaches, for 2009-10.

NEW WILMINGTON — Slippery Rock High graduate and Westminster College senior Abbey Basta was named Presidents' Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week.Basta won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1 minutes, 7.19 seconds and placed third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.48 at the Grove City Mini-Invitational last Tuesday, then won the 100 hurdles (16.14) while placing second in the 400 hurdles (1:11.56) at the Western Pennsylvania Championships Saturday.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — Seneca Valley graduate and Central Michigan University gymnast Jessica Suder won the championship on the balance beam with a score of 9.875 at the Mid-American Conference meet last weekend.The 24th-ranked Chippewas went on to win their first MAC team title since 2004 and Suder was named first-team all-MAC.

ALFRED, N.Y. — Butler's Carissa Chilcott placed third in the Future Novice Horsemanship class at the Zone 2 Equestrian Finals last weekend at Alfred University.Chilcott qualified for the National Finals at the International Horse Park in Conyers, Ga. She also received the championship award at the Zone 2 Banquet for having the most points in the Future Novice Horseman class.Butler equestrian teammate Miranda Stoner finished sixth with 21 points in the Beginner Flat class.

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University's Jen Harpp was named the PSAC Track Athlete of the Week after breaking her own school record in the 10,000-meter run over the weekend at the Raleigh Relays with a time of 34 minutes, 45.44 seconds.To date, it is the fastest Division II time in the country.
