Zach Jackson, a graduate of Seneca Valley, allowed five hits and no earned runs over six innings as the Columbus Clippers, the Class AAA affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, defeated the Buffalo Bisons 6-4 on Thursday.Jackson struck out four and walked one in earning his third consecutive victory. He had allowed just one earned runs and nine hits over 16 innings with 11 strikeouts and five walks in that span.For the season, Jackson is 3-2 with a 3.09 ERA, 13 strikeouts and eight walks.
SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University freshman lacrosse standout Amy Halls has been named to the NCAA Division II All-Rookie team, as selected by www.womenslacrosse.com.Halls scored 57 goals and added nine assists for 66 points. SRU finished the season with a 5-12 record.
