LONGVIEW, Texas — Slippery Rock High graduate Shane Meling is the new sports information director at Texas A&MUniversity-Kingsville.

Meling was previously SIDat LeTourneau (Texas) University for five years and was honored as a district winner in the College Sports Information Directors of America Fred Stabley Writing Contest in 2007.

Meling is a Grove City College graduate and received a master's in sports management from Slippery Rock University.

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Flyers are returning to the Spectrum for one last game.Team officials say the Flyers will take on the Carolina Hurricanes in a preseason game on Sept. 27, at the same arena where they won their first Stanley Cup in 1974.
