Donald ‘Earl’ Stewart Jr.

Stewart

Donald Leon “Earl” Stewart Jr., 66, of West Sunbury, Clay Township, passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Earl was born on May 22, 1958, in Butler, to the late Donald Leon Stewart and Margaret Mae Kreuer Stewart. He married Tammy Lee Sarvey on June 19, 1982.

Given the name Earl by his high school wood shop teacher, he could always be found hard at work. Earl was a 1976 graduate of Slippery Rock Area High School. He actively and honorably served in the U.S. Army 52nd Engineers from 1976 to 1979 and was stationed in Denver, Colo. He worked as a supervisor in the scrap-recycling industry for 45 years.

Earl wanted to make everyone smile. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and his beloved dachshunds. He will be remembered for his willingness to help others, strong character and sense of humor.

Earl is survived by his wife, Tammy, at home; two sons, Dustin (Jen) Stewart of Grove City and Derick (Ashley) Stewart of Erie; grandchildren, Dakota, Maverick, Memphis, Stella and Scarlett; brother, Richard “Dickie” (Beth) of Clintonville, Pa.; sister, Lorrie (Dan) Burick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Daniel Stewart.

His family life was extended in love by Betty and Bill Long’s entire family.
