CHICAGO - Chicago Cubs pitcher Matt Clement, 0-5 in eight starts since June 8, gave up four runs and seven hits in six innings with seven strikeouts during Wednesday's game with Cincinnati.

But Sammy Sosa stepped in to rescue the Butler native and the Cubs when he hit a go-ahead homer in the seventh inning following a rain delay, and Chicago overcame a two-run deficit to beat the Red 5-4 and to stop a three-game losing streak.

"Hopefully it can be a turning point," Clement said. "You lose that game, and the negatives just keep going."
