Megan Gilliland, a member of the Penn State University women's cross country and track teams, has been named captain for the 2004-05 season.

Gilliland, a 2001 graduate of Seneca Valley, will be a senior majoring in broadcast journalism.

She is the daughter of Kim and Sharon Gilliland of Zelienople.

Slippery Rock University graduate Greg Hopkins, a receiver-defender for the Arena Football League's Los Angeles Avengers, will be on national television at 4 p.m. Sunday against Orlando.Hopkins has 63 receptions for 704 yards and 12 touchdowns this season. He has 34.5 tackles, one sack, three interceptions and three pass breakups defensively.In the last five years, Hopkins has 463 catches - second-most in the AFL - for 5,592 yards and 115 touchdowns.
