Butler graduate and Clarion University sophomore pitcher Josh Gerstel was named PSAC West Pitcher of the Week straight week.

Gerstel pitched all 15 innings of a 4-1 win over Lock Haven, allowing an unearned run on six hits while striking out 10. He also pitched an inning of scoreless relief against Mansfield.

Gerstel finished the year 4-4 with a save and a 4.15 earned run average. He pitched five complete games in eight starts, striking out 60 and walking 16.

Clarion finished the season at 18-29, 5-15 in the PSAC West.

For the fifth successive season, the Slippery Rock University women's tennis team received a berth to the NCAA Division II Tournament.The Rock (14-8) will play Kutztown (10-7) in a first-round match May 7 at Millersville.Millersville (9-3) and St. Anselm (10-4) will meet in the other first-round matchup.The winners will meet May 8 to determine one of 16 teams that will advance to the final three rounds of competition, which will be played May 12 through 15 at Altamonte Springs, Fla.
