The Butler Public Library is now accepting registration for its Get a Clue @ Your Library summer reading program open to youth ages 2 to 17.A kick-off for the program, featuring the Nature Zone will be held from 10 a.m. to noon June 2 at the library, North McKean St.For details, call 724-287-1715 or visit www.bcfls.org/butler.

CABOT — A Civil War Reenactment Weekend will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 2 and 3 at Cooper Cabin Pioneer Homestead, 199 Cooper Road.The event will include living history stations.Admission is $4 for adults, $2 for youth ages 5 to 17 and free for children younger than 5.For information, contact the Butler County Historical Society at 724-283-8116 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

A bus trip to the Salamanca Casino and Resort will be held June 9 to benefit Catholic Charities.A bus will depart from Butler Motor Transit at 8:30 a.m. Participants will receive a $20 slot voucher and a $5 food voucher upon arrival.The bus is slated to return to Butler at 9 p.m.Cost is $40 per person.For details or to register, call 724-287-4011.

FORD CITY — A General Educational Development test will be conducted from 6 to 10 p.m. June 13 and 14 at Ford City Junior/Senior High School, Fourth Avenue and 11th Street, Ford City.Cost for the test is $50. Generally, participants must be at least 18. Candidates age 16 and 17 are required to present a written request from an employer, educational institution or armed forces recruiter.The deadline to register is June 8. Registration forms are available at the Armstrong School District Administration Building, 410 Main St., Ford City.Applicants must present photo identification at the time of testing. NEW YORK, N.Y. — The Fresh Air Fund is seeking families to host New York City children from low-income neighborhoods for two-week periods during the summer.The program provides city children the opportunity to experience suburban and small-town life.Visitors range in age from 6 to 18.
