The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:
Nov. 28 — Dominic Willforth, 25, of Butler, was charged with simple assault and harassment after police said he grabbed a woman and punched her in the eye twice during an argument in the 1200 block of East Brady Street. He was arraigned and released on $15,000 unsecured bail.
Nov. 25 — Jeffrey R. Benson, 57, of Cranberry Township, was charged with felony counts of theft and receiving stolen property after police said he stole jewelry valued at $13,420 from the home of friends and sold it to Treasure Hunt in Cranberry Township.
Dec. 2 — Erik D. Crooks, 55, of Hilliards, was charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance, and three summary traffic violations following a Nov. 29 traffic stop in Franklin Township. Police said they received a report about someone driving erratically near Moraine State Park and located a car matching the description of the vehicle on a dead-end road near the park. Crooks was found unconscious in the driver’s seat with the engine running. He received a dose of Narcan from an ambulance crew, which found multiple stamp bags of suspected heroin in his jacket while taking him to a hospital, police said. The incident marked the third time he was charged with DUI within 10 years and the sixth time since 1990, police said. He was arraigned and placed in the county prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.
Dec. 2 — Kristi L. Bowser, 50, of Slippery Rock, was charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding after police said she was pulled over for driving 40 mph in a 25 mph zone on Route 268 in Parker Township. She showed signs of impairment during a field sobriety test, and small amounts of suspected crack cocaine were found in her purse and in her pants, police said. She was arraigned and released on $10,000 unsecured bail. Police said she pleaded guilty to DUI charges in 2020 and 2018.
Dec. 2 — Ryan L. Grey, 20, of Slippery Rock, was charged with strangulation, simple assault and harassment after police said he put his forearm across a woman’s throat during an argument and then inadvertently hit her in the eye with his elbow while he was getting off of her on Nov. 28 in Cherry Township. He was arraigned and released on $15,000 unsecured bail.
Nov. 27 — Robert J. McLaughlin, 34, of Prospect, was charged with three counts of DUI and two summary traffic violations following a three-vehicle crash on Nov. 12 on Route 422 in Franklin Township. Police said McLaughlin was wanted on a warrant, and a multitude of drug paraphernalia was found in his clothing during a search. A toxicology test found fentanyl and norfentanyl in his system, police said.
Nov. 25 — Steven L. Hancox, 47, of Stoneboro, was charged with DUI and two summary traffic violations following a Nov. 20 crash on property behind Store Express, a self-storage business in Brady Township. Police found a red car with a smashed rear window, open trunk and no rear bumper with its rear axle resting on concrete blocks. Hancox, who was in the driver’s seat, emitted an odor of alcohol, and his license had been suspended for a previous DUI, police said.
Nov. 25 — Parker D. Giddings, 23, of New Castle, was charged with two counts of DUI and three summary traffic violations following a one-vehicle crash Nov. 10 on Harmony Road in Slippery Rock Township. Police said Giddings showed signs of impairment at the scene, and a later blood test showed he had a blood alcohol content of 0.175%. A driver is considered legally drunk in Pennsylvania with a BAC of 0.08%.
Nov. 25 — David L. Humphrey, 33, of Butler, was charged with DUI and three summary traffic violations after police said the pickup he was driving rolled onto its driver’s side after hitting and shearing off a utility pole Nov. 17 on Patterson Road in Jefferson Township.
Nov. 25 — Nathan A. Cornell, 35, of Butler, was charged with strangulation, simple assault and harassment after police said he grabbed a woman during a Nov. 23 argument while driving on Route 8 in Penn Township. Cornell was arraigned and placed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.
