Betty A. Martin
Betty A. Martin, 78, of Martins Lane, Slippery Rock, Scott Township, Lawrence County, died at 6 p.m. Monday at Jameson Memorial Hospital, New Castle.
Born Sept. 1, 1929, she was the daughter of Charles and Alice Kuhlber.
She was active with her husband in managing their dairy farm business. In addition, she was a homemaker and greatly enjoyed spending time with her family including her grandchildren.
She was a member of the Plain Grove Presbyterian Church. She was active on the Kitchen Committee and the Women's Missionary Society and was a Sunday school teacher.
She married C. Clair Martin Aug. 25, 1951, who survives at their home. Also surviving are two sons, Jerry E. Martin and his wife, Marsha, of Slippery Rock and Dennis R. Martin of New Castle; a daughter, Linda E. Wilson and her husband, Tom, of New Castle; a sister, Marian Dambach of Baden; two grandsons, Brad Wilson and his wife, Katie, of DePere, Wis., and Shane Wilson of New Castle; a granddaughter, Allyson Garrett and Luke of Gordonsville, Va.; and two stepgrandsons, Ed Stoner Jr. of New Castle and David Stoner of New Castle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Helen Herr; and a granddaughter, Crystal Stoner.
<B>MARTIN </B>— Friends of Betty A. Martin, who died Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Visitation also will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Plain Grove Presbyterian Church, where services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Herbert Goetz, church pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the South Plain Grove Cemetery, Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County.
