'The Wizard of Oz'
CHERRY TWP — Moniteau High School will present “The Wizard of Oz” at 7:30 p.m. March 23 and at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. March 24 in the high school auditorium, 1810 West Sunbury Road, West Sunbury.
Tickets are $10 and are available at the door or from cast members.
Based on the novel by L. Frank Baum, “The Wizard of Oz” centers on Dorothy Gale of Kansas who, like so many girls her age, dreams of what lies over the rainbow.
One day a twister hits her farm and carries her away over the rainbow to another world where she meets the scarecrow, the tin man and the cowardly lion.
The music and lyrics are by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg.
The show is directed by Gordon Cavalero and produced by Cavalero and Sue Edwards.
Edwards is also the choreographer, while Darcie Bishop is vocal director and Dennis Malinski is orchestra director.
Dorinda Aigner is piano accompanist, and Chip Merra is technical director.
Shelley O'Donnell is in charge of properties, Naomi Wagner is in charge of costumes and Beatrice Heck is in charge of makeup.
