A Butler man has been jailed on charges alleging he sent messages to his wife threatening to burn her property and harm her and her family.

State police charged Gerard A. Slupe, 56, with terroristic threats and three counts of harassment after his wife reported he sent pages of threatening text messages and called her seven times between 4:30 a.m. and 5:24 p.m. on Dec. 13, according to an affidavit.

The threats included burning her Donegal Township property with kerosene and harming her and her family, police said. Slupe told police he called and texted her, but didn’t remember what he said, according to police. He was placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bond.
