Connoquenessing to welcome Santa Claus on Saturday
The Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Company will welcome Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and their elves to both the township and borough with its annual Santa Run on Dec. 21, starting at 3 p.m.
The route of the Santa Run will take the jolly old elf and family on a sled ride across the major streets of both Connoquenessing township and borough. The run will start from the fire station on Main Street at 3 p.m. Santa will pass by Connoquenessing Borough Park, the B&E Mini-Mart, and Connoquenessing Elementary School on a winding route before returning to the fire station.
“We try to cover pretty much as much (of Connoquenessing) as we can,” said firefighter Zach Kroner. “We don't cover all of the side streets, but we cover all the main roads.”
Kroner says that Santa will wave to residents as he passes by on his “sled.”
“He's on a trailer, which is his sled,” Kroner said. “It's pulled by a pickup truck.”
The fire company started the Santa Run in December 2019, and it has become an annual tradition in Butler County ever since.
The full route is available on the Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Company’s Facebook page, but may be subject to change in the days before the event.
