2 students go to hospital after 2nd crash Thursday involving Butler Area school bus
Two students were injured in a Thursday afternoon, Dec. 19, crash at the intersection of routes 68 and 38 in Summit Township — the second of two crashes Thursday involving a Butler Area School District school bus, according to officials.
Reports came in at about 3:11 p.m. indicating a vehicle had rear-ended the bus minutes prior at the intersection of Chicora and Oneida Valley roads.
Butler school district superintendent Brian White told the Butler Eagle two students went to Butler Memorial Hospital for evaluation. The 911 Center said nobody was transported to the hospital by emergency services.
The bus and the last police vehicles left the scene of the crash around 4:15 p.m.
Earlier Thursday, a different bus from the district was involved in a crash around 6:50 a.m. That bus remained drivable, but another bus picked up the occupants from the scene as a precaution, White said.
State police were not immediately available to provide more information.
