Police reports
The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:
Dec. 11 — Joshua E. Ruth, 29, of Butler, was charged with two counts of DUI and two summary traffic violations following a one-car crash on Hampton Court where police said he struck a utility pole and a speed limit sign. Police said he sustained suspected severe injuries and was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, but he had a strong odor of alcohol. Police said he had a blood alcohol content of 0.189%. In Pennsylvania, a BAC of 0.08% is the legal threshold for DUI.
Dec. 11 — Sara McGregor, 25, of Butler, was charged with DUI and hit and run of an attended vehicle, duty to give information and render aid and summary traffic violations after police said she failed to stop after being involved in an crash on Hansen Avenue and Whitestown Road at 5 p.m. Police said she was later found passed out behind the wheel of her running vehicle in her driveway.
Dec. 5 — Raymond Golden, 52, of Florida, was charged with two counts of illegal use of solvents and noxious substances and one count of defiant trespass after he was found sitting outside of Walmart huffing canned air. Police said he was under the influence and in possession of a can of Endust.
Dec. 5 — Jamel A. Barnes, 34, of Butler, was charged with operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock and failing to stop at a stop sign following a two-vehicle crash on Nov. 11 at the Morton and Brown avenues. Police said Barnes was required to have an ignition interlock on his vehicle.
Nov. 8 — Jon R. Shay, 41, of Butler, was charged in two separate cases. In one case, Shay was charged with misdemeanor retail theft related to an Aug. 9 incident at Kohl’s. Police said Shay stole two vacuums and clothing worth $679 total.
In the second case, Shay was charged with misdemeanor counts of retail theft, marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession related to a Nov. 6 incident at Target. Police said they arrested Shay after he tried to steal a TV and an air purifier worth $805 total. Police said during the arrest they found a small baggie of marijuana and a glass smoking pipe.
Dec. 4 — Justin P. Barger, 40, of Parker, was charged with driving with a driver’s license suspended for DUI-related violations, driving without a license, fraudulent use of a license plate, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving without insurance following a Nov. 8 traffic stop on Route 38 in Summit Township.
Dec. 4 — James A. Bryan, 33, of West Sunbury, was charged with two counts of DUI and three summary traffic violations following a Dec. 1 traffic stop on Sunset Drive in Center Township. He showed signs of impairment and had a blood alcohol content of 0.112%. In Pennsylvania, a BAC of 0.08% is the legal threshold for DUI.
Dec. 4 — Nicholas S. Valorie, 32, of Avalon, was charged with false written statement and statement under penalty after police said he incorrectly filled out a firearm purchase form on Feb. 27, 2023 at Rural King in Center Township.
Dec. 3 — Thomas J. Rodgers, 58, of East Butler, was charged with a felony count of retail theft and misdemeanors theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after police said he stole tools from Rural King in Center Township on Dec. 1 and was found with crack cocaine and two metal smoking devices when he returned on Dec. 2 to return one of the tools.
Dec. 3 — Larry D. Males, 45, of Butler, was charged with a felony count of criminal mischief and misdemeanors defiant trespass and loitering after police said he scratched an obscene word on two vehicles parked at home on Walnut Lane in Clay Township on Oct. 19. The damage estimates totaled $14,345, police said.
Dec. 3 — John D. McNeely, 28, of Industry, was charged with theft by deception after police said he was paid $1,800 to repair a vehicle owned by a Summit Township resident, but did not fix it.
Nov. 7 — An unknown driver struck a vehicle driven by Stephen E. Jensen, of Saxonburg, on Route 28 north at the Exit 7 on ramp and continued driving north without stopping. Jensen was not injured.
Sept. 20 — LCE officers cited the North Park Lounge Cranberry for selling or furnishing alcoholic beverages to a visibly intoxicated person.
