Seneca Valley’s Nick Hemer wins NJCAA football championship with Hutchinson Community College
Nick Hemer’s second season in college ended with a national championship.
The Seneca Valley graduate is now a redshirt-freshman at Hutchinson Community College (Kan.), serving as a long snapper for the Blue Dragons.
Thanks to a last-minute goal-line stand, he and Hutchinson beat two-time defending champion and No. 1-ranked Iowa Western 28-23 Dec. 18. It’s Hutchinson’s second NCJAA title.
Hemer was the starting long snapper in the game, as he has been this season. He also recorded one tackle this year.
Hemer originally committed to the University of Buffalo after high school, where he played in 2023. But he transferred to Hutchinson before the 2024 season. On Dec. 4 he announced he will be transferring to the University of Texas-San Antonio in a return to the NCAA Division I level.
