St. Wendelin student’s art on cover of state calendar
Artwork from a Butler County student will be on the cover of a calendar put together by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office.
Lily Tirk, a student at St. Wendelin Catholic School, submitted a color drawing depicting an elephant and a yellow bird smiling underneath a rainbow carrying the words “drug free is the better me.” The drawing is on the front of a 12-month calendar featuring art from students across Pennsylvania.
The winners were chosen from over 1,800 submissions from 402 schools in 43 counties, based on the artists’ creativity, ability to illustrate, and inclusion of a drug-free message. Each selected student will receive a certificate and a $529 contribution to their Pennsylvania 529 College Savings Program, which is supervised by the Pennsylvania Treasury Department.
