What’s open on Christmas Day in Butler County? Not a whole lot.

If you’re in need of a beyond-last-minute Christmas gift on Christmas Day itself, you won’t find it at Walmart or Target, whose locations are closed on Christmas Day. In fact, nearly every institution is closed for Christmas Day — but there are some exceptions.

While most stores are closed on Christmas Day, the CVS Pharmacy store on Freedom Road in Cranberry Township will stay open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Day, but the actual pharmacy, as well as the MinuteClinic, will not open.

The other CVS Pharmacy locations in Butler County, including those located within Target stores, will not open on Christmas Day. Other pharmacies like Walgreens and Rite Aid locations in Butler County are closed on Christmas.

In case you need a quick bite to eat or need to stop off for gas, all Sheetz locations, including the 11 locations in Butler County, are open 24/7 on Christmas Day, as usual.

The same is true for Sheetz’s rival in this region, GetGo Cafe + Market. According to a representative from Giant Eagle, all standalone GetGo locations will remain open at their regular hours on Christmas Day. However, all GetGo “pad locations” — those stations located adjacent to a Giant Eagle store — will be closed, as Giant Eagle stores are closed on Christmas Day.

Starbucks Coffee will open on Christmas Day at its locations in Seven Fields and Route 228 in Cranberry Township.

For those in Butler looking to dine out on Christmas night, the Red Lobster at Moraine Pointe Plaza is open at its normal hours: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., The Bravo! Italian Kitchen location in Cranberry Township also will be open on Christmas Day starting at 11 a.m.
