Joan Hogue
Joan A. (McNeish) Hogue, 83, of Harrisville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 20, 2024.
She was born in Grove City on July 23, 1941, to C. Lloyd and Margaret G. (Rouse) McNeish. She graduated from Grove City High School in 1959.
She married Richard S. Hogue on May 6, 1960. She was a member of Trinity Community Church, a Global Methodist Church. She worked for many years at Community Day Care, where the children she took care of affectionately called her “Grandma Joan.” Joan was a children's Sunday school teacher for 30 years at the Harrisville United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed knitting dishcloths, sewing, NASCAR, old Western movies, puzzles, making blankets for her church’s blanket ministry and word searches. Joan was known for her delicious baked goods, especially her pies.
Survivors include her son, Robert (Gaile) Hogue of Butler; daughter, Kimberly (Mitchell) Stoughton of Slippery Rock; and son, Brian (Linda) Hogue of Jackson Center; five grandsons and their wives; seven great-grandchildren and two more on the way; one sister, Judy (Glenn) Bickel; one sister-in-law, Joan Davis; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Douglas; two nieces; and four nephews.
She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her loving, giving spirit!
HOGUE — The family of Joan A. (McNeish) Hogue, who died Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, will welcome friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at JAMISON MCKINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Henley officiating the service.
Burial will take place at Prairie Cemetery in Harrisville.
