Jack Ogoreuc, a Grove City High School senior, broke an NRA record in smallbore rifle.

Ogoreuc scored 1,157 from 50 meters in 20 shots during an event in Murraysville in September.

It broke a 15-year-old record by two points. The record was for smallbore rifle outdoor metric position for metallic aggregate sights for civilian and junior categories, his father, Robert, said.

He also was recently awarded a national record for a score of 400/400 with 31 bull’s-eyes during an NRA National Championship competition in February for smallbore rifle indoor conventional position metallic sights. The NRA informed him of the national record Tuesday.

Ogoreuc recently committed to compete with West Virginia’s rifle team.
