Sallee Cummins

Cummins

Sallee Lou Cummins, 91, of Mercer, formerly of Hilliards, passed away the morning of Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024.

Sallee was born on May 30, 1933, in Pittsburgh, as the daughter of the late Lester G. and Hazel M. (Peters) Hixson.

She was a clerk at Stanley products, Montgomery Ward and USIS. She was a longtime member of the Butler County Bowler’s Association, where she previously served as president. She will be remembered for loving to be Grandma to her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Rhonda (Dean) Hershey of Hilliards; two sons, Lester “Skip” (Nancy) Cummins of Dumfries, Va., and Glenn Cummins of Butler; seven grandchildren, Dean Hershey Jr., Jason Hershey, Ryan (Caitlin) Cummins, Casey (Al) Stadnyk, Kristi (Zac) Runyan, Chelsea Cummins and Devan Cummins; and nine great-grandchildren, Dean III and Kameron Hershey, Esme and Henry Cummins, Louisa, Julia, and Robbie Runyan, and Harper and Miles Stadnyk. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra (Brian) Jackson, of Antioch, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her German shepherd, Zeus.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Cummins; two brothers, Ted and Wendell; and two sisters, Shirley and Roxann.

CUMMINS — A memorial service for Sallee Lou Cummins, who died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024, will be held at a later date in the spring of 2025.

The Young family of WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, West Sunbury, has assisted the family with arrangements.
