Police: Warrendale man charged with prowling Middlesex neighborhood at night

A Warrendale resident was arrested Monday, Dec. 23, for wandering through a Middlesex Township neighborhood at night while under the influence and attempting to enter someone’s house.

Julio Lazaro, 20, of Warrendale, has been charged with loitering and prowling at nighttime, public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, possession of a controlled substance and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the police affidavit, Lazaro showed up at a house on Eagle Ridge Drive in the Weatherburn Heights housing development and repeatedly rang the doorbell, asking to be let in and eventually offering to pay them money to let him in. Through a Ring doorbell camera, the residents told him to leave, which he finally did.

The affidavit states Lazaro continued down Eagle Ridge Drive before he was stopped by police, who noticed he was carrying a debit card in someone else’s name, as well as a “green card” which appeared to be fraudulent.

The affidavit also states that Lazaro had a noticeable stench of alcohol, as well as numerous traces of white powder on his person, including on his right nostril, in a clear plastic bag in his wallet, and rolled into a $100 bill in his pocket. Lazaro would not tell police what he was doing in the housing development.

According to the criminal docket, Lazaro is unable to post the $15,000 bail and is confined to the Butler County Prison. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 21, in front of District Judge Jack D. Ripper.
