Carole D’Ann (Rodgers) Francis, 86, of Chicora, passed away Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024, at Advanced Care Center, Butler.

She was born in Chicora, Jan. 21, 1938, the daughter of the late Victor and Allene (Hilliard) Rodgers.

Carole was valedictorian of her 1955 graduating class of Chicora High School. She was a member of the Chicora Alliance Church. As a teenager she worked at the soda fountain in the Chicora Drug Store, and as a teller at Mellon Bank in Chicora for 41 years; later working at the Butler courthouse.

She is survived by her three children, Cindy Ferris (Jim Jewart), Mark Francis and his wife, Chantel, and Jeff Francis and his wife, Tyra, all of Chicora; eight grandchildren, Mark Francis, Dustin Ferris (Erin), Allene Francis, Tashawa Francis, Brad Francis (Desire), Autumn Fair and husband, Travis, Elizabeth Francis and Luke Francis; two sisters, Patricia Maust and Eleanor “Joe” Buzard; a brother, Fred (Carolyn) Rodgers; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Rodgers (Bill) and Sandra Rodgers (Tom); eight great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William “Bill” Rodgers and Thomas “Tom” Rodgers; two brothers-in-law, Dr. Paul Maust and Jim Buzard.

FRANCIS — Visitation for Carole D’Ann (Rodgers) Francis, who died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora.
