John Charles Burd
John Charles Burd, 58, of Freeport died unexpectedly Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born at Butler Memorial Hospital, May 28, 1951, to Charles and Violet (Walchesky) Burd.
John worked at Pullman Standard as a welder and a welding inspector, and he also worked for many years as a fabricator, which he enjoyed.
John's favorite past time was making music with and for his friends and family. John will always be remembered for his love of music, musical ability and helping others pursue their talents as well.
Some of the many organizations he was associated with were the Parks Township Sportsman Club, the League of Arts, the Petrolia Valley Lions Club, the Tri-County Music Association and the Tanglewood Senior Center.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are his children, Ronald L. Burd of Greenville, Pa., Benjamin J. Burd of Boyers, Rachel A. Burd of Portersville and Nicole R. Reep, Harmony; and his grandchildren, Mason and Ella Burd and Rayne and Hope Reep. Also surviving are his mother, Violet J. (Walchesky) Burd; his two brothers, Randell W. and Raymond L. Burd; his girlfriend, Lois Ann Johns; and the mother of his children, Doris A. Burd.
Preceding him in death was his father, Charles W. Burd.
<B>BURD</B> — Friends of John Charles Burd, who died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev.
