Police reports

The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:

Butler Twp

Dec. 31 — Jason R. Monks, 39, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor counts of DUI, drug possession and drug paraphernalia possession related to a Dec. 14 report of an erratic driver. Police said they caught up with the described vehicle at Sheetz, and when they approached they found Monks preparing to use heroin. Police said they arrested Monks, and inside the vehicle they found 23 stamp bags of heroin, a loaded syringe and other associated paraphernalia. Police said field sobriety tests showed Monks was impaired. Police said hospital staff was unable to locate a vein for blood testing.

Dec. 23 — Evan D. Winter, 32, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault related to a Dec. 21 incident on Saxonburg Road. Police said Winter used a joint lock on his girlfriend's arm, punched her in the face and threw a bowl of cereal at her. Police said the woman had a red mark on her face.

Cranberry Twp

Dec. 20 — Izaac R. Bermea, 32, of Renfrew, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a Dec. 8 traffic stop on Wolfe Run Road. Police said field sobriety tests showed Bermea was impaired. Police said a preliminary breath test showed the presence of alcohol, but Bermea later refused to have his blood tested.

Jackson Twp

Dec. 23 —Jill A. Serold, 52, of Zelienople, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault related to a Dec. 23 domestic incident on Spring Valley Drive. Police said Serold took her boyfriend's phone out of his hand and hit him in the head with it. Police said they saw a bleeding cut on the man's head.

State Police, Butler

Dec. 28 — William E. Milbert Jr., 37, of East Butler, was charged with felony strangulation and misdemeanor simple assault related to a Dec. 28 domestic incident on Holyoke Road in Center Township. Police said Milbert hit his girlfriend in the face and pushed her to the ground. Police said he then covered her mouth and nose, restricting her breathing. Police said the woman managed to escape and lock herself inside the home, despite Milbert shouldering the door. Police said when they arrived, they saw the woman had bruising and swelling on her face, as well as a bloody nose.

Dec. 23 — Antonio A. Montgomery, 27, of Slippery Rock, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault related to a Dec. 20 domestic incident on Bluebell Lane in Brady Township. Police said while arguing with his girlfriend, Montgomery bit her. Police said they saw bite marks and bleeding on the woman's hand.

State Police, Washington

Dec. 26 — Thomas L. Esterline, 65, of Mars, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a Dec. 18 incident on Interstate 79 North in Cranberry Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later breath tests showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.122%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.
