College roundup: Butler graduates Makenna Maier, Kaleb Proudfoot pick up weekly conference awards
Butler grad Makenna Maier was named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference women’s basketball player of the week Monday.
Maier, a junior wing at St. Vincent, averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds in two wins last week, 86-79 over Bethany and 76-61 over Allegheny College. She’s averaging 12.9 points and 8.8 rebounds in her first full year as a starter.
Proudfoot earns PAC volleyball honors
Another Butler graduate, Kaleb Proudfoot, was named the PAC men’s volleyball offensive player of the week Tuesday.
The Thiel College junior middle blocker had 28 kills during the season-opening Wittenburg Kickoff Classic over the weekend in which Thiel went 1-2. He also had five blocks in the second match, a five-set loss to Roanoke.
