Lorraine “Lori” Welsh (née Beers), 64, of Harmony, passed away on the morning of Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024, peacefully at home.

Born to Donna Waite (née Miller) and the late William “Bill” Beers Jr., she graduated from Hopewell High School in 1978. Lori eventually settled in Harmony in 1993, where she devoted herself to her family and community.

Lori was deeply involved in her children's education and activities, frequently volunteering for field trips and sporting events. She was a longtime member of Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople and served two terms on the Harmony planning commission. Lori loved working in the family garden during the summers, often running a roadside vegetable stand. In later years, she raised chickens and a parrot and spent cherished time with her grandchildren, whether in Harmony or during visits to Mesa, Ariz.

Lori’s creativity made everything she touched feel magical, especially at Christmas, when she turned the holiday into something unforgettable. She loved old movies, TV shows, trivia and word games. Lori was a wonderful cook and created a warm and welcoming home where every guest was treated like family.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Dr. Charles J. Welsh; and their children, LeeAnna Smith (née Welsh) and her husband, Cory, of Mesa, Ariz., Timothy Welsh and his wife, Emma (née Wood), of Valencia and Brady Welsh of Harmony. She was a proud grandmother to Holden, Carolina and Milla Smith of Mesa, Ariz., and Malaki Welsh of Valencia. She is also survived by her mother, Donna Waite of Mantua, Ohio; her siblings, Leslie Beers of Mantua, Ohio, Eric Beers of Harmony, Robert Beers of Aliquippa and Brooke Marticek of Gibsonia; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Lori also shared a lifelong bond with her best friend, Terrie Harriger, who remained close to her heart no matter how far apart they lived.

WELSH — Friends and family of Lorraine “Lori” Welsh, who died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024, are invited to celebrate her life on Jan. 17, 2025, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by a luncheon at Stewart Hall at the Harmony Museum at 12:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Lori’s memory.
