Police reports

The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:

Butler Twp

Jan. 6 — Julie Snow, 47, and Robert Hornbuckle, 35, both of Butler, were charged related to a Dec. 30 traffic stop at Super 8 motel. Police said officers found controlled substances during the stop. Snow is charged with misdemeanor counts of drug and paraphernalia possession, and Hornbuckle is charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession.

5:51 p.m. Jan. 2 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 8 and Vogel Road. Police said they have an ongoing investigation into the crash which involved a Audi Q7 driven by Laura Bergh, 69, of Butler, and a Toyota Corolla driven by David Perry, 67, of Butler. Police said both drivers suffered minor injuries but refused transport.

Dec. 26 — Police filed charges against two people related to a Dec. 18 theft incident at Speedway. Elijah S. Myers, 26, of Chicora, was charged with felony counts of retail theft and conspiracy, and Brittany P. Lynn, 27, of Renfrew, was charged with felony conspiracy and misdemeanor retail theft. Police said the two worked together to steal food and drink items worth $23.92. Police said Myers has three past retail theft convictions.

Cranberry Twp

Jan. 3 — Debbie L. Harriger, 53, of Freedom, was charged with felony retail theft related to a Dec. 18 incident at Walmart. Police said Harriger stole $38.98 worth of items. Police said Harriger has two past retail theft convictions.

Dec. 23 — Amee L. Francken, 44, of Pittsburgh, was charged with felony retail theft related to a Dec. 23 incident at Walmart. Police said Francken stole $53 worth of items. Police said Francken has four past retail theft convictions.

Penn Twp

Jan. 2 — William J. Porter, 48, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a Dec. 17 vehicle crash at the intersection of Pittsburgh and Dinnerbell roads. Police said Porter was driving a pickup truck and pulled in front of a Ford Focus carrying a driver and four passengers, all minors. Police said a later blood test showed Porter’s blood alcohol content was 0.159%, and in Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.

Jan. 2 — Melissa M. Kasarda, 34, of Valenica, was charged with felony retail theft related to a Dec. 28 incident at Dollar General. Police said Kasarda stole $15.64 worth of items and fled. Police said Kasarda has four prior retail theft convictions.

State Police, Butler

Jan. 3 — Diane C. Ratay, 62, of Evans City, was charged with felony retail theft related to a Jan. 2 incident at Boscov's in Center Township. Police said Ratay stole $223 worth of clothing, candles and kitchen utensils. Police said Ratay has two past retail theft convictions.

Jan. 2 — Heather L. Miller, 40, of Chicora, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a Dec. 23 check on a vehicle stopped on the shoulder of Chicora Road in Oakland Township. Police said they found Miller leaning from the driver’s side door and urinating on the road. Police said Miller refused to perform field sobriety tests, but a later blood test showed her blood alcohol content at 0.132%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.

Jan. 2 — Mark R. Kovocovsky, 21, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a Dec. 29 traffic stop on Herman Road in Summit Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Kovocovsky was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood alcohol content was 0.102%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.

Jan. 2 — Curtis L. Philips, 56, of East Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault related to a Jan. 1 incident on Saint Joe Road in Oakland Township. Police said Philips chased his mother around their home and ripped a phone from her hand.

Jan. 2 — Carl R. Turner, 62, of Mercer, was charged with felony theft and misdemeanor unlawful loaning of a gun related to a May 14 gun purchase. Police said Turner took a gun during a purchase from a woman, but he failed to transfer registration of the gun and failed to complete the sale.
