Glenn Franceschina
Glenn L. Franceschina, 71, of Mercer, passed away on Monday afternoon, Jan. 13, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born May 4, 1953, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Louis Franceschina and Norma DeMarco Franceschina Rape.
Glenn was a maintenance supervisor at several area school districts throughout his career. “Pap Pap Dunk” enjoyed doing anything he could with his hands — from art to tinkering with his collections. He most recently had volunteered at the Greenville Railroad Museum and Park. Glenn enjoyed a good Western and was an avid race fan. He was of the Catholic faith and was proud of his Italian heritage.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian Stabile Franceschina; son, Christopher Franceschina (Jessica) of Pittsburgh; daughter, Jennifer Hobaugh (Ben) of Elizabeth; two stepdaughters, Mary King of Bruin and Janene Crawford in Texas; four grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, two stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Snyder (Jim) of Grove City and Karen Henderson of Streetsboro, Ohio; and his former wife, Mary Chabala of Bridgeville.
FRANCESCHINA — Friends of Glenn L. Franceschina, who died Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, at the MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Closing prayers will follow at 7 p.m.
There will be a private burial in Mars Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Glenn’s memory may be made to the Greenville Railroad Museum and Park, Greenville, Pa.
